Outpaid

About
Outpaid.

Outpaid is a small, independent project. It compares your base pay with two public U.S. government datasets: BLS wage estimates for every metro, and the wages employers filed with the Department of Labor for visa-sponsored positions. It is not affiliated with any government agency, employer, recruiter or salary site.

Why it exists

Employers benchmark pay with market data before every review. Most employees walk in with a guess. The government already publishes much of that data, but it is hard to find, hard to read, and scattered across spreadsheets. Outpaid turns it into a 30-second answer and a number you can defend.

How it makes money

Mainly through the optional $14 Leverage Dossier. The check, every salary and employer page, the raise calculator, the open data and the embed widget are free. There are no ads and no paid placements, and we don’t sell personal information. If you ask for an introduction to an immigration attorney or negotiation coach, we pass on only what you submit for that request. No employer can pay to change or remove its numbers.

Check the privacy claim yourself

Your salary is ranked inside your browser. To verify it: open the check, open your browser’s developer tools (Network tab), enter a salary and run the check. You will see public data files load (for example /data/…json) and an anonymous page-event ping, but no request contains the number you typed. The share card never includes your salary unless you choose to add your gap, and that version is drawn on your device. The full policy is on the privacy page.

Where the numbers come from

U.S. BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025 (national + state); and U.S. DOL OFLC LCA Disclosure Data, FY2026 Q3 (LCA_Disclosure_Data_FY2026_Q3.xlsx). The current build uses 393,060 certified full-time filings and was rebuilt on 2026-10-11. Every step, threshold and limit is on the methodology page, and the employer medians are downloadable as open data.

Corrections

Found a wrong number, a mismatched employer name, or a merged company that should be split? Email hello@getoutpaid.com with the page link and what looks wrong. We check it against the source file. If our processing is wrong we fix it and note the change on the methodology page. If the source file itself is wrong, we say so on the page rather than editing government data.

Who runs it

Outpaid is run by a small independent team that prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Instead of asking you to trust a name, everything here is checkable: public sources with case numbers, a published method, open data, and a privacy claim you can test in your own browser. Contact: hello@getoutpaid.com.

Not legal, financial or career advice. Filed wages are base pay offered on visa filings, not total compensation, and not a finding about any employer’s conduct.
